	Chartered by Congress in 1958, The Military Order of the Purple Heart is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. Although our membership is restricted to the combat wounded, we support all veterans and their families with a myriad of nationwide programs by Chapters and National Service Officers.

		State officers visit chapter 5555 - Pictured at the Vietnam memorial in Winona Veteran Part from Patroit Vietnam Veterans are: David Meyers Sr. Vice; Sgt. of Arms Gordie Nelson; State Sr. Vice Cmdr Mark Browne; Dick Lande Cmdr 5555; Chuck Jones Jr. Vice State Cmdr and Patroit Dick Holdorf. 	Winona chapter 5555 has a monument honoring All Purple Heart Veterans of All Wars in the works at Winona’s Veteran Park. Please we need your donations and also paving bricks are available to purchase for your name and theatre you served tp pave the walk way and around the monument [Read on for details etc.]

	The mission of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is to foster an environment of goodwill and camaraderie among combat wounded veterans, promote patriotism, support necessary legislative initiatives, and most importantly, provide service to all veterans and their families.
