Chartered by Congress in 1958, The Military Order of the Purple Heart is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. Although our membership is restricted to the combat wounded, we support all veterans and their families with a myriad of nationwide programs by Chapters and National Service Officers.

Chapter 5555 has these Purple Heart coins for sale and neck bolo ties. The 3 bars or lines on the back of the Purple Heart coin are area for engraving. Chapter 5555's Patriot of The Year Award went to Dick Lande. Presenting the award is chapter adjutant Gordie Nelson. Dick started the Winona based chapter back in 09 and remains as the chapter's commander

Vernon Wickman a WWII vet from chapter 268 was presented with Victory WWII medal.

Picture of Herb on his 90th birthday Dec. 5th 2010 at the MN nursing home for veterans. Also pictured his his military picture of back in the day. Herb is very active in chapter 268 and writes a newsletter for the veterans nursing home too!
